Lakeway is home to about 11,500 mostly affluent residents - the median household income is $104,000. Located on Lake Travis’ southern shore, the town has a population that is expected to grow to about 15,000 in the next four years. Developers have submitted plans for nearly 1,500 single-family homes, townhomes, villas and condominiums, several hotels, and a 354-unit independent living facility planned by American Retirement Corp. And in nearby Bee Cave, work has started on the Hill Country Galleria, a 1 million-square-foot regional mall.
